Frequently asked questions
What is an SWP?
A Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) lets you withdraw a fixed amount from your mutual fund investment at regular intervals, usually monthly, while the remaining money stays invested and keeps growing. It is often used for retirement income.
How does this calculator work?
Each month it grows your balance by the monthly return, then subtracts your withdrawal. It does this for the full period to show how much you withdraw in total and what is left at the end.
What if my withdrawals are too high?
If your monthly withdrawal is larger than what your corpus earns, the balance shrinks and can run out before the period ends. The calculator warns you and shows how long the money lasts.
Is the return guaranteed?
No. The expected return is an assumption. Real returns vary, so treat the final balance as an estimate, not a promise.
